About Position/Job
Grinnell College invites applications for a Two-Year Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in Asian Religions, appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2026. Hosted by the Department of Religious Studies, this fully funded postdoctoral fellowship supports early-career scholars whose research and teaching focus on Asian Religions, including but not limited to Tibet, South Asia, and East Asia.
This position is designed for scholars who have completed or will complete their PhD between 2023 and Summer 2026. The fellowship aligns strongly with Grinnell College’s commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence, social responsibility, and diversity of perspectives. Fellows will contribute to teaching and research within a highly selective liberal arts environment, engaging students through interdisciplinary, regionally grounded, and historically informed approaches to the study of religion. The search is chaired by Professor Timothy Dobe, and the fellowship offers an excellent platform for developing an academic career in Religious Studies.
