About the Position
The National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bengaluru, is inviting applications for faculty positions focused on understanding the origins of human brain disorders. This call is open for the evaluation period from 1 August 2025 to 31 December 2025. Successful candidates will join a world-class research environment and closely collaborate with the Centre for Brain and Mind (CBM) at NCBS. The programme is led by Uma Ramakrishnan, Dean of Faculty at NCBS, and provides unique opportunities to integrate research in human genetics, neuroscience, stem cell biology, and mental health studies. Research Area

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 3–6 years of postdoctoral research experience for Assistant Professor level
- Proven research record in neurobiology, genetics, or related fields
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a tenured independent investigator for senior-level posts
- Strong collaborative research track record in human brain disorders
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead independent research programmes on brain disorders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within CBM and NCBS
- Build on CBM’s resources including clinical assessments, brain imaging, and genomics datasets
- Supervise PhD students and research staff
- Contribute to NCBS’s academic and research excellence
