About Position/Job
The University of Kent invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate focusing on early medieval Britain, with a special emphasis on Latin letter-writing. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Medieval Studies or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of Medieval Latin
- Knowledge of early medieval communication and literary culture
- Understanding of early medieval Britain and its neighbouring regions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in archival research
- Palaeographic skills
- Collaborative research experience
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct archival research to identify manuscript witnesses of Latin letters in early medieval Britain
- Analyse linguistic and literary features of Latin epistolary texts
- Undertake palaeographic study of early medieval letters
- Disseminate research findings within a multi-person team
- Contribute to achieving project aims and research questions
