About Position/Job
Aarhus University, School of Culture and Society, invites applications for a part-time Teaching Associate Professorship (Studielektor) in Classical Archaeology. The position focuses on teaching both Classical Archaeology and Classical Philology courses within the interdisciplinary Classical Studies programme. This permanent, 20-hours-per-week role begins on 1 January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues to teach Greek and Roman antiquity, supervise students across BA and MA levels, and actively participate in departmental academic life. Located in Aarhus, Denmark, the position offers the chance to contribute to a vibrant, international academic environment while developing innovative, interdisciplinary teaching and research approaches in ancient history and archaeology. Knowledge of Danish is required for teaching, and a teaching portfolio must be submitted with the application.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Classical Archaeology
- Documented teaching experience in Classical Archaeology at university level

- Proficiency in Danish for teaching purposes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supervising BA and MA students
- Participation in interdisciplinary research projects
- Teaching portfolio with course outlines and student evaluations
- Publications in the field of Classical Archaeology or Classical Studies
Key Responsibilities
- Teach courses across the Classical Archaeology curriculum and collaborate with Classical Philology courses
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary academic activities
- Contribute to research and curriculum development in Classical Studies
