About the Program
Uppsala University is offering a fully funded PhD position in Information Studies, with a focus on AI and Digital Humanities research, starting 1 January 2026. Based at the Department of ALM (Archival Studies, Library and Information Studies, Museum and Cultural Heritage Studies), the project forms part of the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program – Humanity and Society (WASP-HS). The successful applicant will work under the direction of Professor Anna Foka, within the AI Futures of Culture and Memory research cluster. This interdisciplinary project investigates the transformative impact of AI on cultural institutions, creative professions, and collective memory. The program brings together cutting-edge AI research with critical humanities perspectives, offering a rich research environment with international collaborations and professional networks.
