About Position/Job
The PhD Candidate in Geography at CERTOP, a joint research unit of CNRS, Toulouse – Jean Jaurès University, and Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier University, offers an outstanding opportunity to investigate mountain tourism adaptation in the Pyrenees. This PhD project explores how environmental pressures—such as climate change, water quality degradation, and toxic algae proliferation—interact with stakeholder behaviours and territorial adaptation strategies. Positioned at the intersection of geography and management sciences, the research employs a systemic socio-ecosystem approach under the “OneHealth” framework, linking environmental, animal, and human health. Candidates will engage in interdisciplinary methods, including fieldwork, stakeholder interviews, and spatial analysis, contributing to sustainable adaptation strategies for fragile mountain ecosystems. The project supports CERTOP’s focus on socio-ecological systems and territorial resilience, making it ideal for researchers interested in environmental sustainability, human health, and interdisciplinary social sciences.
