About the Programme
The Universitat de Barcelona/University of Barcelona invites applications for a PhD candidate in Earth Sciences within the project “Geothermal potential of crustal fault areas in Iberia: geophysical characterisation and numerical modelling.” Supervised by Dr Anna Martí Castells, this fully funded position is based in the Department of Earth and Ocean Dynamics (Dinàmica de la Terra i de l’Oceà). The project focuses on integrating geophysical and hydrothermal data to model the Vallès and Alp faults in Catalonia, contributing to a deeper understanding of geothermal potential in the Iberian region. This interdisciplinary research combines data acquisition, numerical modelling, and geophysical analysis, offering a unique opportunity to develop expertise in geothermal energy and computational geoscience within one of Europe’s leading research environments.
