About the Fellowship
The PhD Research Fellowship in Sedimentology and Petrography at the University of Oslo offers an exciting opportunity for early-career geoscientists to contribute to cutting-edge research on alluvial fan sedimentology and architecture. This fully funded, three-year fellowship (with potential for a fourth year) involves field investigations, petrographic analysis, and integration of seismic and subsurface data to develop innovative concepts in catchment–alluvial fan dynamics. The project encourages collaboration with both industry partners and multidisciplinary research teams, providing exposure to real-world applications and scientific innovation. Scholars will gain expertise in sedimentology, petrography, structural geology, and seismic interpretation, supporting broader goals in geoscience research, sustainable resource management, and planetary habitability studies. The fellowship aligns with UiO’s commitment to high-impact international research and interdisciplinary training.
