About the Program
The Chair of Planning Landscape and Urban Systems (PLUS) at ETH Zurich invites applications for a 4-year fully funded PhD position within the SNF-funded National Research Programme NRP82 project NewUrbES – Co-creating new urban living space for biodiversity and ecosystem services. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Adrienne Grêt-Regamey, this interdisciplinary research combines urban ecology, architecture, material science, and landscape planning to create innovative, biodiverse urban environments. Based in Zurich, Switzerland, the project aims to develop novel building envelopes that integrate natural processes, supporting both human and non-human life. Using advanced ecosystem services modelling, 3D point cloud tools, and serious game development, the role offers collaboration with national academic and practice partners, shaping the future of sustainable urban design in Switzerland and beyond.
