About the PhD Position
The University of Bergen invites applications for a fully funded PhD Research Fellow position in Paleoclimate research. This position focuses on isotope-based palaeoclimatology at the Department of Earth Science, in collaboration with the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, Bergen, Norway. The doctoral research will explore past climate variability, abrupt changes in Atlantic Ocean circulation, and the development of micro-analytical stable isotope methods, contributing to internationally recognised climate research.
The successful candidate will join FARLAB and the Bjerknes Centre, engaging in both independent and collaborative research using geochemical analyses, isotope measurements, and possibly fieldwork. This is a full-time, fully funded PhD position for three years, with the possibility of a fourth year involving teaching or career-promoting work. Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Earth Science or related discipline
- Knowledge of paleoclimate theory and geochemistry

Key Responsibilities
