About the Program
A fully funded PhD position is now open at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in carbonate sedimentology and diagenesis, as part of the prestigious ANR-funded PREDIS project. Titled “PREdicting the lateral evolution of sedimentary DIScontinuities”, the research is based at the Laboratoire de Géologie de Lyon (LGL-TPE) and supervised by Dr Simon Andrieu and Dr Guillaume Suan. The project will investigate Jurassic discontinuities in limestone formations, focusing on their lateral variability, early diagenesis, and geochemical signatures. Fieldwork in Morocco’s High Atlas, comparative analysis in France and Italy, and advanced techniques in petrography and stable isotope geochemistry form the core of this interdisciplinary research. This opportunity is ideal for highly motivated candidates with a passion for sedimentology, stratigraphy, and geological fieldwork within a collaborative international environment.
