About the Position
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati is inviting applications from highly motivated Indian nationals for the position of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. The selected candidate will work on the project “Establishing a Regional Biosafety Laboratory (BSL-3) at Tirupati for research and diagnostics in infectious diseases: tuberculosis and virology.” The fellow will be responsible for managing the BSL-3 laboratory and overseeing research activities involving high-risk pathogens. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical infectious disease research while gaining hands-on experience in a high-containment laboratory. The appointment is purely contractual for one year, with possible renewal based on performance. IISER Tirupati is a premier autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, dedicated to advancing research and education in science.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Life Science, Biotechnology, Pharma, MD, or Master of Surgery from a recognized university.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience handling Mycobacterium tuberculosis or class 3 viral pathogens.
- Experience working in a BSL-3 laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the BSL-3 laboratory at IISER Tirupati.
- Coordinate research and diagnostic activities related to tuberculosis and virology.
- Ensure strict compliance with biosafety standards and protocols.
- Contribute to ongoing research publications and reports.
- Support training and operational planning for the laboratory.
