About the Position
The University of Antwerp is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Sociology of Climate Change to join the ERC-funded project REIMAGINE: Understanding the Role of Economic Imagination for Advancing Decarbonization in Europe. This position focuses on analysing Spanish media discourse related to climate change and decarbonisation within a comparative European framework. The postdoc will work under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lisa Suckert, collaborating with an international team engaged in cross-national research on contested societal responses to climate change. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Sociology or a related discipline
- Excellent proficiency in Spanish and English
- Experience with qualitative research methods and QDA software (Nvivo, MaxQDA, Atlas.ti)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of German, Polish, or Swedish
- Interest in economic sociology or the sociology of imagined futures
- Proven publication record in international peer-reviewed journals
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative analysis of Spanish media discourse on climate change and decarbonisation
- Collaborate with international project team members
- Prepare articles for high-impact journals
- Contribute to the management of the ERC project
- Participate in dissemination and knowledge exchange activities
