Postdoc Position in Geochemistry and Paleoecology at CNRS, Besançon – Apply by 4 December 2025

728x90 50% Off | Nature Journal for only €99

About the Position

This Postdoctoral position in geochemistry and paleoecology is offered within the ERC-funded PaleoMARE project at the Laboratoire Chrono-Environnement, CNRS, France. The role focuses on understanding how heavy metal pollution influenced the spread of antimicrobial resistance from pre-industrial times to the present. Working with lake sediment archives, the researcher will develop age-depth models, perform trace element analyses, and potentially contribute to palynological investigations. The project combines geochemistry, microbiology, and palaeoecology, offering a highly interdisciplinary environment. This postdoc supports the laboratory’s mission to advance environmental research and contributes to a major European effort to uncover historical drivers of antibiotic resistance. The work may also involve field missions, providing rich research exposure and collaboration opportunities with experts across relevant domains.
