The University of Barcelona is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in isotope geochemistry applied to nitrate pollution prevention. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Earth Sciences with a thesis in isotopic geochemistry
- Degree in Environmental Sciences, Microbiology, or Geology
- At least four years of postdoctoral experience in isotopic geochemistry, nitrogen and carbon cycles, and bioremediation
- Proven expertise in laboratory experiments, water sample preparation, and isotopic analyses
- Field experience addressing agricultural contamination and remediation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of French
- Strong organisational and team leadership skills
- Experience supervising students and laboratory technicians
- High motivation and an interdisciplinary research mindset
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage laboratory and field experiments on denitrification
- Perform water sampling, sample preparation, and chemical/isotopic analysis
- Interpret geochemical and isotopic data and integrate findings into project deliverables
- Coordinate project activities and team progress
- Prepare scientific reports, deliverables, and publications
- Present research findings at national and international conferences
- Supervise PhD students and junior researchers
