About the Position
Aarhus University’s Department of Ecoscience invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position in Marine Mammal Research as part of the ArcSolution Project. Based in Roskilde, Denmark, this full-time, fixed-term role will start on 15 April 2026. The successful candidate will join a leading research group working on Arctic marine ecosystems, focusing on the ecology, behaviour, and conservation of marine mammals in rapidly changing polar environments. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Marine Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in marine mammal research or aquatic ecology
- Proven ability to conduct fieldwork in challenging environments and handle ecological datasets
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong background in statistical modelling and data visualisation
- Experience with marine acoustic monitoring or remote sensing methods
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and analyse marine mammal field studies under the ArcSolution project
- Manage and interpret ecological and acoustic datasets
- Prepare scientific manuscripts and contribute to joint publications
- Collaborate with international research partners and stakeholders
- Present findings at scientific meetings and outreach events
