Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Medieval History at University of Warsaw, Poland

About the Position

The Faculty of History at the University of Warsaw is inviting applications for a postdoctoral researcher (R2) in the Department of Medieval History, as part of the funded Sonata Bis 13 NCN project: “Recognising Saints in the High Middle Ages: Local and Papal Formalisation of Cults Reconsidered.” This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to explore the recognition and formalisation of sainthood in Latin Europe between the 10th and 13th centuries. The position aligns with the department’s dedication to high-impact research in ecclesiastical and medieval history, with an emphasis on underexplored regions such as Scandinavia, the British Isles, East Central Europe, and Germany. The project offers a unique blend of archival research, digital humanities, and international collaboration under the direction of Professor Grzegorz Pac. The successful candidate will contribute to building a comprehensive Sainthood Recognition Catalogue, an open-access digital resource.
