About Position/Job

The CNRS – National Centre for Scientific Research, France, is inviting applications for a 24-month Postdoctoral Position within the international ANR-funded REREV project at the Institut Interdisciplinaire de l’Innovation (I3 – UMR9217). This collaborative project, involving teams from Canada, France, Germany, and the UK, explores transformations in research evaluation through the introduction of open data. The postdoctoral researcher will lead the French field study, conducting 50 interviews across 10 higher education and research institutions to understand how open data is used, its influence on evaluation practices, and disciplinary differences. The role offers opportunities for international collaboration, comparative research, and conference participation, with supervision by Didier Torny, the scientific leader of the French team. Based in Paris, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of sociology, political science, history of science, and open science policy.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Sociology, Science and Technology Studies (STS), Information Science, or Political Science
  • Ability to conduct interviews in French and work in interdisciplinary contexts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of research evaluation, open science policies, and data infrastructures
  • Strong skills in document analysis and synthesis
  • Proficiency in both French and English
  • Experience in international or comparative research projects

Key Responsibilities
