About Position/Job

Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań is offering a Postdoctoral position in the project “Improved Urban Mobility toward Climate Neutrality under New Working Habits and Transport Modes”. The role is hosted at the Faculty of Anthropology and Cultural Studies and supervised by Prof. Aleksandra Lis-Plesinska. This position provides an exciting opportunity to engage in international collaboration with partners from Europe and China, including the University of Groningen, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Tsinghua University. The research explores sustainable transport, evolving work habits, and urban mobility solutions, with a particular focus on climate-neutral multimodal traffic systems in Poznań. The postdoc will contribute to publications, policy recommendations, and stakeholder workshops, while working in an interdisciplinary team dedicated to addressing global climate and urban challenges.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD awarded by 2025 in anthropology, sociology, economics, or socio-economic geography
  • Experience in national or international research projects
  • Strong knowledge of climate change, transport policy, or sustainable mobility
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Polish
  • Ability to write publications for peer-reviewed journals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in stakeholder workshops and “serious game” simulations
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Research experience in urban policies, climate policies, or transport economics
  • Familiarity with Poznań’s public transport and mobility market

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research under Work Package 4 on climate-neutral multimodal traffic systems
  • Co-design and lead stakeholder workshops and simulation exercises in Poznań
  • Draft and publish scientific articles in international journals
  • Collaborate on conference papers and policy recommendations
  • Engage with city officials, service providers, and project partners
  • Support administrative cooperation within the faculty
