About the Position

Ghent University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Assistant in Qualitative Research Methodology within the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. This 2-year temporary appointment offers an exceptional opportunity to strengthen interdisciplinary research in educational sciences, psychology, and social work. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience with qualitative research design, data collection, and analysis
  • Strong record of scientific publications
  • Knowledge of scientific-theoretical foundations, ethical research, and working with vulnerable populations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest and experience in teaching and student supervision
  • Familiarity with mixed-methods approaches
  • Active engagement in interdisciplinary academic networks

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and coordinate qualitative research projects (70% research focus)
  • Support curriculum development in qualitative research methodology
  • Contribute to faculty-wide methodological networking and knowledge sharing
  • Supervise master’s students and co-supervise doctoral research
  • Integrate scientific-theoretical and ethical considerations into research practice
