About the Position
Duke University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in Evolutionary Anthropology, offering two exciting research pathways within the Pontzer Lab. These roles focus on human ecology, energetics, climate impacts, ageing, and population health, with research centred in East Africa and across international collaborative sites. Supervised by Professor Herman Pontzer, the positions provide a two-year funded appointment, renewable for a third year based on performance. Both posts contribute to projects exploring climate-driven energy expenditure, water turnover, health metrics, ageing networks, and cross-site ecological research. The positions combine interdisciplinary methods, fieldwork, collaborative research networks, and opportunities to work with leading scientists across Duke’s global health and evolutionary anthropology community.
