About the Position

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
  • Strong academic record: ≥60% from UG onwards; ≥55% in Class 10 and 12.
  • Experience in CFD and simulation tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with open-source CFD tools (OpenFOAM, PeleC, Nek5000).
  • Proficiency in high-performance computing.
  • Understanding of reacting flows, chemical kinetics, gas-turbine simulations.
  • Experience with machine learning for turbulence-chemistry modelling.
  • Proficiency in Python and other programming languages.
  • Record of peer-reviewed publications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate physics-informed ML frameworks for chemical kinetics and turbulent combustion.
  • Integrate models within CFD tools for practical combustor applications.
  • Publish research in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
  • Co-mentor graduate students and support lab infrastructure and funding efforts.
  • Optional teaching opportunities for academic portfolio development.
