About Position/Job

The Australian National University (ANU) invites applications for two Postdoctoral Fellow positions, based at the renowned Australian Centre on China in the World (CIW) in Canberra. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career scholars to engage in innovative research on contemporary Chinese politics, economy, public administration, and society. ANU is globally recognised for its outstanding expertise in Asia Pacific studies and policy influence, hosting the largest concentration of Asia Pacific scholars in the English-speaking world. As part of CIW, fellows will join a dynamic academic community dedicated to deepening Australia’s understanding and engagement with China. The role includes teaching contributions, involvement in executive education, and editorial support for The China Journal, a leading international academic publication. Fellows will also benefit from funding for conference travel, research support, and strong national and international scholarly networks.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctorate awarded within the past five years in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting field research in China.

  • Contribute to teaching and executive education programs.
  • Support editorial work for The China Journal.
