The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Department of Earth Sciences. The selected fellow will work closely with Prof. Achyut Mishra on research involving geochemical reaction modelling and simulations, especially in the domains of geological CO₂ storage and critical mineral leaching. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related discipline
- Strong academic background in geochemistry and modelling
- Minimum 60% or equivalent grade in graduation and postgraduation
- Minimum 55% or equivalent in Class 10 and 12
- Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis are also eligible
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with reaction kinetics and fluid flow in rocks
- Familiarity with geochemical simulation tools
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research on geochemical reaction modelling
- Assist with academic tasks such as teaching support and student mentoring
- Publish research outcomes in high-impact journals
