About the Position
The University of Oslo is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (SKO 1352) in Asian Art History within the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas. This position is part of the prestigious ERC-funded Consolidator Project ECOART – An Ecological History of Eurasian Art, which explores how natural resources shaped artistic production and visual culture across Eurasia during early modern globalisation (1500–1800). The two-year fellowship provides funding for fieldwork, archival research, conferences, and publications, with a special focus on the impact of climatic and geographic factors on art in the Philippines. The successful candidate will join an international, interdisciplinary team under the guidance of Professor Anna Grasskamp, contributing to research in geoaesthetics, art history, and global historical perspectives.
