About the Position
The CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research), France, is offering a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the functional ecology of marine plankton at the MARBEC Research Unit, Montpellier. This 14-month fellowship, starting in November 2025, focuses on studying planktonic functioning, dynamics, and evolution in the Thau Lagoon and the Mediterranean Sea. The project uses innovative in situ high-frequency automated sensors to estimate metabolic and trophic variables and link them with environmental and biological data. Supervised by Francesca Vidussi and Behzad Mostajir, the fellow will collaborate with an interdisciplinary research team to produce impactful scientific publications. This opportunity contributes to MARBEC’s broader mission of advancing marine biodiversity research in Mediterranean and tropical ecosystems.
