About the Position
The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) is offering a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Paleoceanography of the Late Quaternary at the University of São Paulo’s School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (EACH-USP). Hosted within the Center for Research on Climate Crisis and Disaster Resilience (CLIMARES), the project will reconstruct the internal structure of Heinrich stadials of the last two glacial stages, with unprecedented temporal resolution. The focus will be on changes in the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) strength and rainfall variability in northeastern Brazil. The successful candidate will work with advanced geochemical proxies, including radiocarbon, stable isotopes, and major elements in marine sediments. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global climate change research within one of Brazil’s top research environments.
