About the Fellowship

The GATES (Grenoble ATtractiveness and ExcellenceS) International Excellence in the Humanities Programme, hosted at the Maison de la Création et de l’Innovation (MaCI), Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), invites applications for three prestigious postdoctoral fellowships for 2025–2027. This competitive programme is designed to attract exceptional early-career researchers from around the globe in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. It promotes interdisciplinary, experiential, and collaborative research by providing access to MaCI’s world-class labs and platforms. Backed by the France 2030 ANR initiative, the fellowship supports original, high-impact research in alignment with international academic excellence.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D., D.Phil, C.Sc. or equivalent) completed before submission
  • Demonstrated academic distinction (e.g., peer-reviewed publications in international journals)
  • International academic background or research experience (degrees or projects completed abroad)
  • Open to candidates from all nationalities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interdisciplinary project proposals
  • Clear integration of MaCI’s labs and research facilities into the proposed work
  • Prior collaboration or contact with researchers at UGA or MaCI
