Brown University invites applications for the International Humanities Postdoctoral Research Associate position with a focus on Premodern South Asia. The successful candidate will teach one course per semester in the Sanskrit programme, potentially cross-listed in Religious Studies or other humanities departments. This post promotes innovative, comparative research and situates the study of Premodern South Asia in a global scholarly context, while participating in the Cogut Institute’s seminars and broader academic activities.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

PhD completion required by 1 July 2026
Applicants must not have earned a PhD from Brown University or have completed their PhD more than five years ago

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching Sanskrit or related courses
Engagement with cross-departmental teaching initiatives
Innovative research approach and comparative methodologies

Key Responsibilities
