About the Position
The University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) invites applications for a 12-month postdoctoral researcher position in Language Sciences, funded by Spain’s Ministry of Science and Innovation. Supervised by Dr Pedro Guijarro Fuentes, the role is based within the BASLA research group and focuses on the LAUA project, exploring language attrition and ultimate attainment in bilingual/multilingual speakers of Germanic and Romance languages. In addition to research, the selected candidate will teach a Spanish course at UIB’s International Centre for Spanish Studies (CIEE). The position offers an excellent opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration across linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, and education, and includes international components and opportunities to contribute to impactful research in cognitive science.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Language Sciences or related fields
- Proficiency in English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of other Romance and Germanic languages
- Experience in cognitive science or psycholinguistics
- Prior teaching experience
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary research
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on bilingual/multilingual language attrition
