About the Position
The Australian National University (ANU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in in Palaeoclimate Reasearch within the Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES) in Canberra. This six-month, full-time position focuses on palaeoclimate and palaeoenvironmental reconstruction from Australian lacustrine environments. The successful candidate will collaborate on developing chronological models and sediment-based reconstructions to explore past climate dynamics. Supervised by Assoc. Prof. David Heslop, this project combines advanced geoscientific methodologies with international collaboration, contributing to ANU’s world-leading climate and environmental research. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

- Record of peer-reviewed publications and academic presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in analysing lacustrine sediments
- Experience collaborating in interdisciplinary or international research teams
- Mentoring and leadership experience in academic environments
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct collaborative research on Australian lake systems
- Develop and interpret chronological models for palaeoenvironmental histories
- Publish findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences
