Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • PhD (completed by time of appointment) in Media Studies, Digital Humanities, Science and Technology Studies, or a related field
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Willingness to reside in the Basel trinational region

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engagement with historically and technically rigorous theoretical work
  • Familiarity with areas such as media archaeology, critical making, game studies, medium design, or infrastructure studies
  • Experience or interest in community building, event organization, and/or visual design

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent research aligned with departmental themes (e.g., habilitation project)
  • Teach one course per semester (2 hours/week)
  • Assist with supervision of students and academic event organization
  • Collaborate with Professors Markus Krajewski and Ranjodh Singh Dhaliwal on departmental projects
  • Lead the organization of research and outreach initiatives
