About the Position
The University of Liverpool invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Environmental History. This position is Wellcome Trust-funded and focuses on research into the History of Conservation and Animal Health within the Department of History, located in Liverpool, UK. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the Conserving Global Health project, undertaking independent research on conservation, climate change, and the scientific history of ecosystems as carbon sinks. Access to the Department’s research archives and support from experienced scholars ensures a productive environment for high-impact publications and professional development.
Applicants must hold a PhD in the history of science, environmental history, STS, or related disciplines and demonstrate strong archival research skills. Preferred skills include oral history methods, interdisciplinary collaboration, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Candidates awaiting PhD award will be appointed at Grade 6, with progression to Grade 7 upon confirmation of a PhD award.
This is a full-time postdoctoral position for 3 years, starting as soon as possible, offering a competitive salary of £39,906–£46,049 per annum. Eligibility Criteria
