About Position/Job

The University of Edinburgh invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the AHRC-funded project “Voices in Slavery’s Archive: Law, Place and Testimony in British Guiana.” This full-time, fixed-term role runs for three years from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2029. Based at the School of History, Classics and Archaeology, the successful candidate will conduct innovative research on Caribbean slavery history, contribute to public engagement initiatives, and collaborate with an internationally recognised team of scholars.   • Ability to communicate complex historical research to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with public engagement in historical research
  • Familiarity with archival research in colonial and Caribbean sources
  • Demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
