About Position/Job
The Université de Montpellier invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Mineral Resources focused on historic Pb-Zn mines of the French Massif Central. Hosted at Géosciences Montpellier (GM), a joint research unit with CNRS, this 12-month, full-time position is part of the national PEPR Sous-Sol programme and the ANR CMiO project. The successful applicant will investigate the fate of critical metals (Ge, Ga, In, REE) in hydrothermal and sedimentary deposits, combining structural geology, metamorphic petrology, and geochemistry. The project involves bibliographic research, fieldwork, thermodynamic modelling, geochronological analyses, and in situ microscopic and geochemical studies (EPMA, LIBS, LA-ICPMS). Candidates will benefit from a national and international research network and contribute to high-impact publications and conference presentations. This post offers a unique opportunity to advance understanding of ore deposit modelling and mineral exploration on an orogenic scale.
