The role focuses on investigating grain boundaries in 2D materials and their impact on device performance, contributing to next-generation semiconductor innovations in collaboration with Intel.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Hands-on expertise in fabricating TMD-based devices using EBL.
  • Strong publication record in 2D materials research.
  • Flexibility with equipment schedules and excellent communication skills.
  • Teamwork skills and experience in independent research.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of carrier transport physics in TMDs.
  • Experience with technology transfer and innovation.
  • Evidence of entrepreneurial creativity.
  • Time management and resource planning skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate test structures using advanced lithography.
  • Perform structural and electrical characterisation of devices.
  • Collaborate closely with Intel and other partners.
  • Publish high-impact research articles and present at conferences.
  • Mentor and guide junior researchers and graduate students.
  • Proactively apply for research funding and explore commercialization opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and quality standards.
