Research area
- Viking Age (c. 750-1050 CE) global interactions

- Norse diaspora and comparative studies of Viking Age populations
- Maritime and overland networks linking Scandinavia with Asia, the Mediterranean, and the Indian Ocean
Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Archaeology, History, or related discipline (awarded no more than 3 years before application deadline, with exceptions)
- Demonstrated track record of independent and original research
- Fluency in English (required for MA teaching duties)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Research focus on Norse global contacts and networks, especially Silk Road interactions
- Experience with interdisciplinary and collaborative research
- Ability to contribute to MA-level teaching and supervision
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct original research aligned with the Centre’s mission
- Teach and supervise MA students (up to 20% of working time)
- Participate in seminars, workshops, and public engagement events
- Collaborate with international researchers and visiting scholars
