Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Archaeology, History, or related discipline (awarded no more than 3 years before application deadline, with exceptions)
  • Demonstrated track record of independent and original research
  • Fluency in English (required for MA teaching duties)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research focus on Norse global contacts and networks, especially Silk Road interactions
  • Experience with interdisciplinary and collaborative research
  • Ability to contribute to MA-level teaching and supervision

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct original research aligned with the Centre’s mission
  • Teach and supervise MA students (up to 20% of working time)
  • Participate in seminars, workshops, and public engagement events
  • Collaborate with international researchers and visiting scholars
