About Position/Job
CNRS – Laboratoire Image, Ville, Environnement (LIVE) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Geoarchaeology based in Strasbourg, France. This position is part of the ANR TRANSPORTUS project, which aims to develop an innovative conceptual model of ancient harbours by integrating archaeological, environmental, and geoarchaeological data. The post-doc will focus on the northern mole of Portus, using sediment cores, drillings, GIS mapping, and palaeoenvironmental analyses to reconstruct harbour structures, environmental trajectories, and historical landscape dynamics. Candidates will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of archaeologists, geophysicists, and geoarchaeologists, including collaboration with a PhD student at the University of Lyon 2. This full-time, fixed-term position provides a unique opportunity for early-career researchers to advance their expertise in geoarchaeology, sedimentology, and historical landscape reconstruction while contributing to high-impact publications and international research networks.
