Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in anthropology, bioarchaeology, archaeology, geochemistry, geology, geography, or a related field
  • Proven experience with isotope-based provenance and dietary reconstruction analysis
  • Strong communication skills in English (B2 or above)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with sampling and sample preparation for isotope analysis
  • Experience with programming languages and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of GIS modelling
  • Knowledge of Czech or Slovak
  • Valid B driving license

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct isotope-based analyses of mobility and dietary trends in prehistoric human remains
  • Develop a multi-isotope isoscape for the Czech Republic
  • Collect archaeological samples and conduct chemical pretreatment for isotope analysis
  • Lead data collection protocols and contribute to the IsoArcH database
  • Publish research findings in leading international journals
  • Participate in outreach and educational activities
