About the Position/Job

Aarhus University’s Department of Biology – Section for Ecoinformatics and Biodiversity invites applications for a prestigious two-year postdoctoral fellowship under the ECONOVO Centre. This interdisciplinary project aims to forecast biosphere-scale ecological effects in the context of increasing ecological novelty using advanced species distribution and vegetation models. Research Area

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Ecology or a related field (must be submitted before the deadline)
  • Strong background in quantitative ecological modelling
  • Solid general skills in ecological theory and practice
  • Proficient in written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with future forecasting or scenario modelling
  • Demonstrated ability to publish internationally
  • Proven teamwork and collaborative research skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead original research addressing how ecological novelty affects global biodiversity and climate feedbacks
  • Use modelling approaches to explore carbon, albedo, and evapotranspiration impacts
  • Develop and publish at least three high-quality papers
  • Contribute actively to ECONOVO outreach, education, and internal collaboration
  • Engage with international collaborators and support junior researchers
