About the Position

Ghent University invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral researcher to join the interdisciplinary LOCO project (The Low Countries, Crossroads of Europe from the Neolithic to the Late Middle Ages), conducted in collaboration with Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and KU Leuven (KUL). Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in archaeology, archaeological science, history, and/or digital humanities
  • Experience with interdisciplinary research and large datasets (e.g., isotope data, literary sources)
  • Team spirit and strong communication skills
  • English proficiency at B2 level or above
  • Strong motivation to coordinate and contribute to a multi-institutional research project

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in digital humanities
  • Valid driving licence

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and integrate different thematic and methodological components of the LOCO project
  • Focus on the historical and cultural circulation of ideas in the Low Countries
  • Collaborate with research teams across Ghent University and VUB
  • Contribute to digital humanities aspects of the project
  • Participate in academic dissemination and outreach
