About the Position

BRGM invites applications for a funded Postdoctoral Position in Sedimentary Basin Geology at the Subsurface Knowledge and Geomodelling Division, GSB Unit, located in Orléans, France. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the AquiBEAT project and the PEPR “Sous-sol, bien commun” program, undertaking independent research using seismic, well, and geological datasets. Access to advanced 3D geological modelling tools, GIS platforms, and a supportive multidisciplinary research environment ensures productive outcomes for publications, scientific outreach, and professional development. The role also includes mentoring opportunities, collaborative workshops, and conference presentations.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Earth Sciences, Geology, or related disciplines, and demonstrate expertise in sedimentary basin geology, seismic interpretation, and 3D geomodelling. Preferred skills include GIS proficiency, integration of heterogeneous datasets, structural and thickness mapping, and strong collaboration and communication abilities in English and French.
