Postdoc - BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières)

Postdoctoral Position in Seismology at BRGM, Orléans, France – Apply by 31 August 2026

About the Position

BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières), France’s leading public institution in Earth Science research, is offering a full-time postdoctoral position in Seismology, with a focus on Ground Motion Data Analysis and Broad-Band Synthetic Seismograms. Based in Orléans, this position contributes to the ANR-funded project IM-SURF (Impact and Mitigation of Surface Seismic Waves on Large-Scale 3D Structures, 2024–2028). Under the Energy and Decarbonization Division, the project explores the seismic response of infrastructure using data from recent major earthquakes (Turkey 2023 and Noto, Japan 2024). The role blends observational seismology with numerical simulations, supporting national collaborations with CentraleSupélec, ENSTA, and GDS. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career researchers to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment with real-world societal impact.
