About the Program

The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution, is inviting applications for a fully funded PraeDoc position in Numismatics. Based in vibrant Vienna, this exciting opportunity is offered by the Austrian Archaeological Institute, Department of Classical Studies. The successful candidate will work in the Research Group Numismatics, contributing to the scholarly documentation and analysis of ancient coin finds from Austria. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in history, classical studies, or a related field (preferably focused on numismatics)
  • Academic training in numismatics and practical experience with coin documentation and identification
  • Ability to work independently and creatively
  • Strong team spirit and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Good computer skills, especially database experience
  • Willingness to travel within Austria for project purposes
  • Class B driving licence
