About the Position
TU Wien is inviting applications for a Universitätsassistent_in (Pre-Doc) role in the Climate and Environmental Remote Sensing group within the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation. This part-time research position (30 hours per week) is expected to begin in March 2026 and is limited to four years. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Completed Master’s or Diploma degree in physics, geodesy and geoinformation, computer science, or an equivalent field
- Strong programming skills, preferably Python
- Experience in data processing and analysis
- Excellent command of German and English
- Strong interest in scientific research and student engagement
- Ability to work collaboratively, solve problems, and contribute innovative ideas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microwave processing and physical modelling of vegetation
- Experience with installing and managing automated measurement systems
- Proven research experience through scientific publications
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on vegetation monitoring using microwave techniques
