About the Fellowship
The Presidential Young Scholars Scheme (PYSS) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is a prestigious, fully funded academic recruitment initiative designed to attract outstanding early-career and mid-career researchers from across the world. The scheme supports high-impact, world-leading research that addresses major societal challenges, advances interdisciplinary scholarship, and aligns with PolyU’s strategic research priorities. Open to scholars across engineering, sciences, social sciences, humanities, and interdisciplinary fields, the scheme promotes academic leadership, international collaboration, and long-term research excellence. Successful candidates are appointed to permanent faculty positions as Assistant Professors or Associate Professors, with substantial research funding, institutional support, and global visibility within a top-ranked research university.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD awarded from a recognised institution
- Strong research output with publications as lead or main author

- Postdoctoral or equivalent research experience
- International research exposure
- Evidence of interdisciplinary or high-impact research
- Teaching capability at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Not Eligible:
- Applicants without a completed doctoral degree
