The University of Vienna is seeking to appoint a Full Professor of Greek History, Antiquity and Epigraphy within its Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant field
  • Proven academic excellence in Greek history and epigraphy
  • Strong publication record and international recognition
  • Experience in teaching and supervising at all levels
  • Willingness to engage in university administration
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading research projects
  • Track record of successful third-party funding acquisition
  • Competence in gender and diversity sensitive teaching and leadership
  • Commitment to faculty research themes and doctoral training programmes
  • Willingness to learn German within three years (sufficient for teaching and administration)
