About the Position

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) is seeking applications for a Project Associate to support the work under the prestigious Centre of Excellence for Large Area Flexible Electronics. Based at the Samtel Centre for Display Technologies (SCDT), this role offers an opportunity to contribute to one of India’s pioneering research centres in the field of flexible electronics. The project focuses on the fabrication, characterisation, and maintenance of advanced electronic systems and lab-scale production environments. This is a hands-on, lab-intensive position ideal for individuals with strong technical backgrounds and a passion for precision engineering. The position is purely temporary and contractual, with an initial term of up to three years.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Tech OR Postgraduate OR Graduate with 3 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. in PCM with minimum 8 years of relevant experience

Desirable Experience:

  • Working in Class 10000 cleanroom
  • Handling chemicals and laboratory equipment
  • Equipment operation: drilling machines, laser fabrication tools, bonding machines
  • Familiarity with lab tools like UV-Vis spectrophotometer, centrifuge, peristaltic pump, autoclave, and microscope
  • Experience in gold nanoparticle synthesis and biomolecule conjugation

Key Responsibilities

  • Laboratory operations and equipment maintenance
  • Support fabrication of microchannels and electronic components
  • Ensure cleanroom compliance and material handling
  • Assist in nano-material synthesis and data collection
  • Maintain lab protocols and project logs
