About the Position

The McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research at the University of Cambridge invites applications for a fixed-term Project Coordinator role on the LHEAAPS (Landscape Historical Ecology and Archaeology of Ancient Pastoralists) project, funded by the Horizon Europe UKRI Underwrite ERC Advanced Research Grant. The role is based in Cambridge and will begin on 1 October 2025, lasting for 40 months. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Paul Lane (Principal Investigator) and a dynamic international team, including researchers from the UK, Kenya, and the USA. This administrative post is central to the smooth delivery of project objectives, collaboration logistics, and team coordination—especially with stakeholders and partner institutions such as MAEASaM. This is an excellent opportunity to support impactful archaeological and historical ecological research with global relevance.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • HND, HNC, Level 4/5 vocational qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong administrative and organisational experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience in higher education institutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience coordinating international research teams
  • Familiarity with project management in academic or research environments
  • Excellent communication and planning skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily administration of the LHEAAPS project
  • Coordinate with the PI, postdoc, PhD students, and international collaborators
  • Maintain communication with the project’s Advisory Board and the MAEASaM team
  • Assist with organising meetings, reporting, and documentation
  • Help ensure timely delivery of project outcomes
