Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Indian citizens or persons of Indian origin working abroad
  • Below 40 years of age at the time of nomination
  • Not holding any permanent, tenure-track, or contractual position in India
  • Currently employed abroad
  • Proven outstanding track record in research, evident from publications and recognitions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant research contributions with international recognition
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research projects

Not Eligible:

  • Candidates holding permanent, tenure-track, or contractual positions in Indian institutions
  • Nominations from the candidate’s Ph.D. guide or the institution where the Ph.D. was pursued

Fellowship/Job Benefits

  • Monthly stipend: INR 1,35,000 (including HRA)
  • Research grant: INR 7,00,000 per annum
  • Overhead charges: INR 60,000 per annum to the host institution
  • Eligibility to apply for additional research grants from various Indian funding agencies
  • Access to institutional research facilities and resources

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete the profile details, including uploading a photo and institutional information
  • Under Form Submission, select “Ramanujan Fellowship” and fill in the nomination form
  • Upload a brief research proposal (maximum 5 pages in PDF format)
  • Submit the form to the chosen nominator
  • The nominator will review and forward the nomination to ANRF

  • Nomination Letter (on official letterhead, duly signed and stamped)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Plagiarism undertaking (as per prescribed format)
